A striking “Misericordia” (meaning "Mercy" in Latin) crucifix featuring St. Francis at the top; the Blessed Virgin on the left; St. John the Evangelist on the right; and St. Anthony of Padua at the base of the cross. The Original Crucifix was painted in Italy some time between 1370-75, and specifically made to be carried in processions or displayed on an altar.
The creator of this crucifix was a gifted follower of Orcagna, the greatest Florentine painter of the middle years of the 14th century. Coveted in churches and homes around the world, this sacred symbol of religion reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice and Christ's love.
The Original Crucifix was painted in Italy between 1370-75 with the intention that it be carried in processions or displayed on an altar.
